Parviz's farewell to Eram

"Parviz," one of the oldest chimpanzees in the world, who was over 70 years old, has reached the end of his life.

According to the public relations office of Eram Green Complex, the veterinarian of Eram Zoo announced that despite all efforts, Parviz, the oldest chimpanzee in Iran and one of the symbols of Eram Zoo, who had been transferred there since its establishment, peacefully passed away while resting in his bed.Ali Taheri added: "Over the past ten days, Parviz suffered from lethargy and loss of appetite. His pulse was very weak, his mucous membranes were pale, and his heart examination revealed severe arrhythmia."Chimpanzees share approximately 98.6% of their DNA with humans, making them the closest animal species to humans. These animals are considered highly valuable, and their presence in Eram Zoo provides a unique opportunity to learn about them. High intelligence, complex social behaviors, and the ability to use tools are among the key characteristics of chimpanzees.
